Teacher Training Workshops
Both Staff Development workshops described below are approved by the North Carolina Division of Child Development for Certification Credit.

Using Puppetry to Teach Curriculum
This is a 90 minute workshop with an 8 page handout to teachers who want to use puppets to motivate and stimulate students in all subject areas. It can be tailored to meet the needs of a specific group: After School Tutors, Home Schooling Parents, Special Education teachers, Teachers of another Language, (see testimonial below) or PreSchool teachers, as well as regular classroom teachers. Using Objects as Puppets, Manipulation of the puppet to bring a story alive, and a Puppet-making workshop are all part of this training, plus more.
Testimonial
Gail gave a presentation to our staff in September 2007. She did a superb job not only as a puppeteer but also as a storyteller, and even more importantly, as a spark to ignite our staff's creativity. Our teachers had some great ideas but they did not know how to bring them to fruition. Gail directed their attention and abilities to aspects of puppeteering they did not know, and as a result, they were able to develop a number of new characters and stories. These characters and stories have helped us enhance the PlaySpanish® curricula and are now part of our daily games and activities.
We would recommend Gail very, very highly. The investment we made in hiring her has been very rewarding, not only financially, but also academically and personally. She is a great lady and we look forward to working with her for many years to come.
