Gail McKay is a Master's Degreed, Certified Teacher of the Deaf, as well as a Certified Independent Instructor for Baby SignsŪ Classes, Parent Workshops, Sign, Say, and Play™ Classes and Baby SignsŪ Child Care Provider Training. She has been qualified by the North Carolina Division of Child Development as an In-Service Trainer, and the Professional Training Sessions are authorized for Staff Development credit.

Education

The Art of Signing
American Sign Language Instruction through Artistic Movement

Students will:

  • tell stories, sing songs and recite poetry in ASL
  • acquire vocabulary and learn grammar of ASL in fun and engaging activities
  • learn about Deaf Culture
  • practice Non-verbal Communication skills: Body Language and Facial Expression
  • learn the Manual Alphabet
Lessons are organized in units of 4 classes each. Ideally, a twelve-week program will give a good beginning foundation for communicating in the language.

Classes are appropriate for after school programs, summer camps and home schoolers.

Classes designed and appropriate for several levels: Preschoolers and school-aged children from 6 to 12.
