World Tales
A folk tale collection from various countries:
  • The BANZA, a Haitian folk tale of two unlikely friends, a goat and a tiger, who meet while taking shelter in a rainstorm, and one gives the other a gift to lift his courage. This show has wonderful music which drives the action. It is necessary to use the 5' x 5' stage with this story.
  • WHO'S IN RABBIT'S HOUSE? is a Nigerian tale of trickery and surprise endings, using African-inspired Masks for the Animal characters, as well as hand puppets.
  • PYTHON'S PARTY is a creative movement participation story for a smaller (less than 20) group. Children “become” an animal and do an animal trick at Python’s Party, and participate in his trick by crawling into the large snake puppet to become his lunch! An elephant comes along to rescue them. Puppet is made from a twin-sized sheet, with a snake head, and children (3 yrs. and older) clamber to crawl into him!

The Adventures of the Gingerbread Girl
An original version of the time-honored tale.
  • After being baked by Grandma, the Gingerbread Girl runs from characters in many nursery rhymes and fairy tales: One of the Three Pigs, the Baby Bear, the Cow who jumped over the Moon, the Tortoise who won the race, the Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood, and Mary's Little Lamb, until she meets the inevitable Fox with a surprise ending.
  • Workshop puppet: a gingerbread boy/girl with “running feet”.
  • If space permits, this show is most fun when experienced "Theatre in the Round" style, with the children sitting in the center, and the stage as a circled path around them.
